SO much fun

This last month has been a lot of fun. Kristen and I decided to make it so. We planned activities to do and events to go to that we've both just been putting off. One afternoon we tie dyed onsies, we had a chocolate night where we had chocolate fondue, watched the movie Chocolat, and did chocoloate facials... it was perfect. Today we went blackberry picking, tomorrow we are going to Swiss Days, a big craft and food fair, pretty exciting. We've gone to farmer's markets together, started sewing projects, had a family Olympics, and loved every moment. She is leaving on Saturday... I am sad, but our fun won't be over, we are in the same family so we'll just plan fun activities through out the years.
Ben and Tyler, our husbands, have participated here and there, but we knew it wouldnt' be as fun for them, that is why we have each other! We also played a home made version of deal or no deal; I took my deal which was dinner at Cafe Rio and a dollar movie, Kristen took her deal which was a meal at Tocanos, Ben took his deal: a BYU football game with his brother, and Tyler took his deal, to spend $20 at a bookstore! No one dared go all the way, our deals sounded too good.
Well, we have finally moved out of our apartment, almost. We are going to finish moving a few boxes, and cleaning, then we are out. Ben is starting school on Tuesday, I will still be working for a little while longer, and Archie is growing steadily! He weighs 3 lbs. this week according to babycenter.com and we play together (mostly after I eat) he likes to kick.
When Kristen comes back in October to pick up her husband we've decided to go to a pumpkin patch, pick our own and carve them for Halloween. I am sure I will have my big strong husband there with me to carry his pumpkin as well as mine. The fun doesn't stop. What a blessing!

Ben is blogging

I have wanted to take part in our Blog, so that it is ours, and not just Kate's on our behalf...so here is my commitment to contribute. Kate and I have had a fun summer, fun mostly in that we actually followed through on some of the ideas and plans we made.

The baby is coming closer, which means that the frequency of Kate's foot rubs increases comensurate to the number of pillows she now requires to get a night's sleep. (I continue my efforts to re-take the GRE, so 'comensurate' is my word of the day). Kate is helping me study as well. She is pleased to have taught me 'incorrigible,' stating that if I ever forget what it means, I need only think of myself. But Kate does love me, I believe that she finds me 'incorrigible' mostly in that I like water fights super much. But then again, my big surprise birthday present a few weeks ago was a set of supersoakers! So, I am getting mixed messages from her. She bought me two, but I cannot get anyone to use the second and play with me yet. The closest I have come is allowing kate to shoot at me from the deck while I run around below trying to avoid getting wet. I did blast Alexandria (my 4 month old niece) the other day, mostly due to her craven (GRE for cowardly)grandfather, the actual target, who was hidding behind her. Sorry Alex and I will get you gram-pa!

Kate is happy and doing well. She went to a county fair last week. I learned from Kristen who was wither her that they skipped the $6 lemonade, thankfully, yet she still assures me that she will only spend $7 buying the ingredients trying to replicate it at home. I continue to promise her that one day I will earn more than $15k a year. Until then, we are grateful for parents who are willing to sacrifice/surrender their basement to us. We are getting ready to move from our spacious 18sq foot apartment into our luxerious 14sq foot bedroom in a few weeks. Kate is looking forward to the A/C. I am looking forward to more squirt gun targets (Kate assured me that while she is pregnant, that if I squirt her, I will be living in the backyard for a few years) ((I believe her!)).
My love to you all, hope you are well.

Hiccups

I read today that Archie will start his hiccups soon, and in talking with friends and sisters I've heard that it feels like the baby is having mini seizures, but that I shouldn't worry... now that I know, I won't.
I never really thought it would be that hard to sit down, or get up out of a chair, or the car, but more and more I find myself reaching for Ben's grasp to help me out of my cushy seat. Bending over is different, in that it doesn't really happen for me anymore, and I can rest my hands on my tummy! That's a benefit! I can't wait to see what this little boy looks like or how he will interact with us. I thank God for him everyday, can't wait to meet him.

Today we are celebrating!, plus, Castle de Alexandria

Ben's birthday is on Friday and we are celebrating with the family tonight. Root beer floats, salmon, and cake, plus presents for Ben! What a great night. We just got home from Bear Lake, near Wyoming and Idaho, but in Utah. It was awesome! We went to a beach in Idaho, then back to the one in Utah where we had a girls vs. boys castle building contest. I think the girls won, we never really decided. Ben and Devin skim boarded, and it was a beautiful night. We ate expensive pizza and candy, played the Wii, and had milk shakes. I don't know what we could have had that would have made it better! Besides Tyler of course.
